(05/31/2010 - 08:38 AM) blq@srqreviews.com  -  The 5th annual Savor Sarasota Restaurant week kicks off on Tuesday June 1, 2010 and continues through Monday June 14, 2010.

With one of the highest concentrations of Zagat rated restaurants in the state of Florida, Sarasota’s restaurants provide a wide assortment of cuisine and a casual to fine dining experience from which to choose. This elevation of the culinary arts joins Sarasota’s cultural attractions to provide a wonderfully splendid destination dining experience.

The Savor Sarasota restaurant week is the perfect opportunity for the uninitiated Sarasota diner to sample a number of restaurant offerings and start a list of favorites. Speaking of favorites, Savor Sarasota is also the perfect venue for the experienced Sarasota diner to revisit an old favorite or try something totally new.

All of the participating restaurants offer a multi-course lunch for $15 per person or $25 per person for dinner. SRQ Reviews reviewed the following participants:

Bijou Café
Blu Smoke Island Grill
Caragiulo’s Italian Restaurant

If there are enough response, the next step would be date and time.

Then after notifing the owners and getting the ok, the list of where we will be stopping.

If it's only going to be 1 or 2 cars, were still going to have it and make it enjoyable.

I hope I'll have more information shortly.

I'll be contacting the vendors shortly and then give the list.

I have a possible 7 people at this time.

Even if your not sure, list yourself.

It was brought to my attention that many may mix up which mall to go to.

It's the one on Route 9 North where Burlington Coat Factory is.

Hot Dog King

You've been added.

Let me know the names of the others interested.

I stopped at Frankly Burgers yesterday while coming from East Brunswick down Route 9 felt like something different for lunch. I didn't want a chilidog because I had one earlier.

Bam!!! I remembered the regular chili that Frankly Burgers have.

I stopped in for the chili and they had a new item I had to try, and that was the hot wings. They were great for my taste.

A little kick, but the sauce was smooth as silk with no after taste.

I believe the new comers on the tour are going to like Frankly Burgers.

The Hot Dog Tour is next month and I can't wait to see the caravan gathering.

Shortly I'll need an approximate number of who will be going so I can let the vendors know how much help they may need.

Also, the T-Shirts will cost $16.00 each and what size you'll need. Even if your not able to go you can get a shirt. It could be a collectors item. I'll be ordering the shirts next Monday.

You can use Paypal or email me for an address johnsagi@sbcglobal.net .

Thank you

John

There was no "buzz" leading up to the event so I figured it was DOA...

Sorry you didn't get much information. I didn't know myself if anyone was coming. It looked like about 20 people, then I started to get cancellations.

Two days before the tour the whether reports had NJ sinking into the ocean with all day rains and wind.

Thursday evening I lost my internet connection and only got oon line once and got out one post and lost the connection again.

When I woke up Saturday mourning I had 12 cancelled emails.

I honestly thought I may be the only person going.

When I got there three people were waiting. It turned out that we had I think 13 do the complete tour and about six or seven meet us at a few stops.

We had constant rain and 50 to 60mph winds, but we completed the tour. I would call it a success, but a lot of work.

I wasn't able to take any pictures, camera broke and I had to make sure everyone got to each stop.

John
